He married MARY (POLLY) THOMAS December 22, 1898 in Methodist Free Church, Waterside, Bacup., daughter of WILLIAM THOMAS and SOPHIA ROBERTS. She was born Abt. 1877 in Bacup, Lancashire., and died Abt. February 1957 in 70 Birket Ave, Wallasey, Wirral, Cheshire, England..

Notes for YOUNG FIELDING:

Young Fielding attended the Funeral of William Thomas ( the Father of his future wife, Mary (Polly) Thomas) Six Months before he and Mary Married

It is possible that he was employed as a "Sewing Machine Shop Manager" in one of the Factories in the Bacup Area.
At the time of his Marriage, (22/12/1898) Young was living at 39 Newchurch Road, Bacup. On his Marriage Certificate, It stated that his Father "Greenwood Fielding", was deceased

The 1901 Census has Young & Mary Fielding living at 13 Dale Street, Bacup. and that during that time his Sister "Olive" was staying with them.

In May 1904, Young & Mary Fielding were living in 23, Watt Street, Harpurhey, Manchester.

It is recorded that Young was deceased by the time his Son Harry Greenwood married in 1925 to Elsie Whittingham.

Notes from Eileen Heaton_nee: Taylor, Grandaughter of "Ogdon Fielding" :
" I was told by my Grandma that Young Fielding had gone out to make the funeral arrangements (of his Sister "Olive" who died September 12/1910 ) and choose a gravesite, when he was taken ill in the street and that whoever went to assist him, at first thought he had been drinking, but this was not the case. I suppose it would have been a heart attack, but I am only guessing".
A double funeral therefore followed. At the time of his death, Young was living with his Wife Mary (nee: Thomas) at 209 Church Lane, Moston, Manchester. (He was 36 years of age)

Notes for MARY (POLLY) THOMAS:

Mary Fielding Ne: Thomas, was known to the Fielding family on the Wirral simply as "Grandma Mary" but to her brother Will's family she was known as "Aunt Polly"

As a widow, Grandma Mary lived for some time in Southport, but later moved in with Elsie Fielding and Family, at 70 Birket Avenue, Leasowe, Wirral. Her son, Harry Greenwood Fielding being away in the R.A.F at the time. She lived in 70 Birket with her "Fielding" Grand Children about her until she died in 1957.

Grandma Mary had a fine voice and used to sing to us Grand Children, songs of bygone times such as "Johnny Sands". When she lived in Southport she would visit us from time to time but each time she would bring a little something for each of us, also a treat of Cherries, something we would not normally get in those days. Grandma Mary was a real Lady and we loved her dearly.
