Hello,
I am looking for any information on James Slater b. 1881, England. His parents Emily Turner and Samuel Slater left England around 1883 for Canada. For some unknown reason, they left him behind, maybe with grandparents?? Samuel's father was named James and he was a joiner. When James finally joined them he was 15 years old. Samuel and Emily were married in 1880 in Leeds so maybe this is where James was born. I have looked in the 1881 census and can only find Samuel and Emily Slater, maybe he was born later in 1881??
Any help greatly appreciated.
