I am desperately searching for my half-siblings BERYL STONE (nee Barratt) and ALAN BARRATT, or members of their failies. Beryl and Alan are the children of Charles Barrat (died 1941ish) and Doris (nee Thurston, later remarried to Leslie Payne. Around 1949/50, when my parents, Les and Doris Payne emigrated to Ontario, Canada, taking Alan and their other children Peter, and twins Janice and John, Beryl (then around 11 or 12 years old) stayed in England with her paternal grandmother (Barratt). I was born in Canada, before the family emigrated to New Zealand in 1958, leaving Alan (then aged around 17/18) in Canada. Another sister was added to the family in New Zealand...Roslyn. The last contact I had with Beryl and her family was in 1980 in Gloucester, when I visited with my husband, Warren. Beryl, and her husband John Stone had three children...Caroline, David and Suzanne, and they owned a corner store in part of Gloucester. We lost contact after I returned to New Zealand.
Alan spent many years in the Vancouver district of Canada, moving around quite often. He had 3 children...Lynn, David, and Lori-Anne, to his first wife (name unknown). Alan visited New Zealand around 1975. I think his last wife's name was Daphne. We have not heard anything from Alan for about 4 years now, and mail has been returned.
If anyone knows ANYTHING about BERYL STONE of England, or ALAN BARRATT of Canada, or any members of their families....PLEASE PLEASE....I would dearly love to hear from any of them to re-establish family links before it is too late! |
