Maureen Meanwell New Zealand Nov 26, 2003
Yesterday, (25th Nov 2003) at 42 years of age I discovered (after years of suspicion) that I was adopted. This is very new to me and I have little information at present until my original birth certificate arrives here in NZ where my adopted parents immigrated to by the time I was 4.
I have no idea of my birth name or my birth mothers name.......yet.

My adoptive parents chose never to reveal the truth about my adoption to me. I stumbled on the information myself.

The information I have to give is that I, a baby girl, was born on 14th February 1961. I was born with a port wine birthmark on my face, neck, shoulder and head. I was adopted by Robert and Sheilagh or Sheilia Gibson who had one daughter already. They lived in Saltcoats,Ayreshire. My adoption may have been handled by the Salvation Army although that is speculation on my part.

Had I had this information earlier in my life I would have begun my search years ago. I feel a need to let my birth mother know that I am ok and that I had a wonderful life.

If you have any information at all, or feel a connection I am ready to hear from you.

Maureen
