| Searching for documentaion. Children are Euphemia & John Couper born 1885 & 1887, respectfully. Birth Parents are John Finlay Couper & Rebecca Stirling Couper. Children living as "boarders" with Chrystina Drysdale 1891 census, father living elsewhere, listed a married boarder, although Rebecca not with him. Letter in 1893 signs children over (signed by father) to someone else, no name given. Euphemia gives her name as Effie Couper Stirling on her marriage certificate (in USA). The children are living with and supposedly adopted by Robert McBride Stirling & his wife Rebecca Mary Gray Stirling, married 1895 (two years after the children were given over). Looking for adoption records. |
