Looking for birth mother
Hi, My name is Maureen and I live in New Zealand. My adoptive parents immigrated here in 1964 when I was about three.
I was born and adopted in Scotland.
I was born Aileen Mitchell at Ayrshire Central Hospital, Irvine on February the 14th 1961.
The only information I have to date is that my mother was Mary Mitchell nee Adams. And she was involved somehow with Mitchell Wool Spinners Kilmarnock. The only other information I have is an address of 28 Ardbeg Avenue Kilmarnock.
I may be able to add more information once I access my adoption records held in the scottish archives.
I have no information of Mary's date of birth. I am longing to hear from anyone who can help me. I only discovered on 26 Nov 03 for the first time that I was adopted and I am now almost 43 so it worries me as to what age Mary may be now. Had I known I had a birth mother out there I would have looked long ago.
If you can help me please do so. Even if you have an idea that could point me in the right direction as to how to conduct a worldwide search. I am going around in circles. The search is made even more difficult by the fact that I am only the other side of the world.
