| Seeking information (especially birthdate)for WALTER CHRISTIE DOWNIE born about 1818 to 1821 in Scotland. Walter Downie was a sea Captain and first mate on the fourth last convict ship to New South Wales in 1849 - the "Hashemy". He married in Sydney in 1856 to Eliza Munton, and died in Sydney in 1867. All available documentation (marriage and death certificates) indicate born abt 1821, but cannot prove, nor do I have parents names. Any help greatly appreciated and happy to provide information that I have. |
