MCDONALD - SCOTLAND
ALEXANDER MCDONALD b 1803 Tobermory Argyll Scotland. Alexander 50 years of age, his wife Flora 38, and 7 children aged between 18 & 1 years emigrated to Tasmania. The family's residence was in Tobermory estate of Ulva, the parish of Kilninian & Kilmore in the county of Argyll. The MCDONALD'S, (COLL b1835, LACHLAN b1837, DONALD b1839, MARY b1844, CHRISTINA JULIA b1846, MARION b1848 & JULIAN b1852) departed Liverpool Port on 1 August 1853 on the ship 'Panama' and arrived in Van Diemens Land (Tasmania). Alexander Macdonald was a farmer in New Norfolk Tasmania in 1866.
Christina Julia MCDONALD married Ephraim John Rainbird in 1862 in New Norfolk Tasmania.
