| Seeking information on the family and relatives of my late wife's birth mother Amy Dearnley who worked as a domestic servant at Woolley Manor, Silkstone, Nr Barnsley in 1941/42. On 20/09/42 she gave birth to a daughter Joan at the Hallamshire Maternity Home, Chapeltown, Nr Sheffield. Her daughter was adopted by Dorothy and Richard Crawshaw of Sheffield. Dr Skelton of Chapeltown and Mr Maurice Hammond, Manager of the Midland Bank, Chapeltown were involved in arranging the adoption. |
