| This is a follow-up to my November 2002 posting. My g g grandparents, LEONARD AND ANN (WILLIAMSON) PHILLIPS had a son (my g grandfather) THOMAS TURTON PHILLIPS who was born July 1859 in Lowergate, Clitheroe, Lancashire, England. Thomas emigrated to the USA in 1872; married JOANNA LOTT and lived in Orange County, New York. Recent information I've found indicates his sister, MARTHA PHILLIPS b. 1844 in Preston, Lancashire, England married ROBERT SHUTTLEWORTH b. 1845 in Clitheroe and they had children: ISABELLA, WILLIAM, MARY J, ELIZABETH, WESTWELL AND ALICE A. This family was living in Blackburn, Lancashire according to the 1891 British census. I believe Robert was the son of WILLIAM AND ISABELLA (BRIGGS) SHUTTLEWORTH and had a sister ALICE ANN. Does anyone have any further information for any of these people. I'd love to get more information on my g g grandparents. Thanks for any help. |
