Can anyone out there shed any light please? My 3 x gt-grand-dad was John Griffiths, Brassfounder, of Brick Lane, London, born in late 18th cent. His son also John wed Amelia Marsh, dau of James, ship agent in 1820 at St. Giles, Cripplegate. He and his son John were Chemists` porters, and both moved to Birmingham to open eventually own businesses dealing in chemicals for smelting metals. 3 generations of John Griffiths, and last one`s youngest of 6 daughters my grandma Eleanor Griffiths later wed Charles Hill of Gloucester. They were still in London in 18th cent., so wonder when they came from Wales? Ever heard of this link with King Henry V111`s coachman, Griffiths who had 16 children and its said loads of Griffiths in London descend from him? Any help much appreciated.
