4th great grandfather was born in Lambeth, Surrey, England. He came to Canada with the Hudson's Bay Company in 1813. Seeking history of his parents and sibblings left in England. His parents were William SMITH married to Hannah WOODMAN, St. Mary's Church, Lambeth, Surrey, September 28, 1796. Their children were William (my line) b June 16, 1797, Benjamin, Joseph and Thomas. Thomas baptised July 1802. Hannah Smith died July 1802. Family resided at #9 Cumberland Row, Kennington Green. These houses were known as the "plague Houses". Eldest son (William) was admitted to Blue Coat School in London June 1805, coming to Canada (1813)after dismisal from school.
