| Researching my mothers family (Jones), in particularly John Jones who married Jane Williams around 1860, both lived near Newport. Their son was John Jones , my grandfather so searching has been difficult. My grandfather worked as an engine driver (pit or railway?) one possible ggf worked as a 'coalminer'. Does anyone know of sites that list members of the rail or mine unions? was anything around before the precursors of the NUM? Any bright ideas welcome. |
