| I am looking for any relatives of Margaret Mcgrath (nee Smith, Smyth) of Bangor, Ireland who gave up her daughter Jean Ann Mcgrath, born March 24, 1921. Her adopted name is Sarah Agnes Fletcher and she is my mother. She was adopted in 1923 by Sarah and Samuel Fletcher, who had a family grocery store on Comber Rd?, Dundonald, Belfast until about 1934/35. Samuel Fletcher also worked at the Dundonald Cemetary for many years. Margaret Mcgrath lived in Bangor at the time of the adoption and it is believed that Margaret knew or was friends with the Fletcher family in Belfast. Margaret had a problem with alcohol even in 1941 when that was the last time that Sarah saw her birth mother. My mother Sarah is now 83 yrs old and I am desperately trying to find information about her birth parents. All adoption records during that time do not exist in Belfast anymore.
