Someone will recognise this scenario. A group of engineers arrived in St Albans in around 1955 to install new equipment into a water pumping station in Holywell Hill. Our neighbour who worked there, found accommodation for all the engineers except one, who was Sudanese, and therefore black, and as a last resort asked my parents if they would give him accommodation for the duration of the work, and of course they were willing. I got to know "Uncle Mo" (his name was Mohammed) for a number of weeks, and this salutary lesson in international relations taught me to respect anyone regardless of their origin. Anyway "Uncle Mo" eventually had to move on to work elsewhere, and I wonder where he is now? He had a little boy who may be around 50 years old now, whose mother, a German lady called Rosa, died giving birth to him. Can anyone help me find "Uncle Mo" (who must be 70+ now) or his son? A bit of a long-shot I think!
