Can anyone help me with any info about my ggfather William Purcell,he came from Cork in Ireland,l was told,with his siblings and went to live in Wimblebury near Hednesford,Staffs.(or Hedgford as it was called in the 1800's)I don't know if his parents came as well.William married a Alice or Agnes Hargreaves and lived at 26 Piggot Street, Wimblebury and was a coal miner so were his brothers.if it will help anyone, their names was Albert or Bert, Cyril or Cycil,Frank or Fred, William or Bill,and Eli, who is my Gfather,he also had 2 sister's Kitty not sure of the other.William had 5 sons, their names, Henry or Harry, Fredrick, William or Billy,Albert Bert, Frank known as Nipper,they were all coalminers Harry was found of music and played the Harmonicia, and the spoons.Some of the brothers lived around the area but l don't know if any moved away or even if the went out of the country.if anyone can tell us anything at all my brother and l will be greatful. We just can't seem to get a Birth Certificate for Eli Purcell because we are not sure if he was born in England,we have a marriage and and Death Cert,but they don't tell you who his mother was.My aunt Sheila who is William's last Grand daughter alive is 100% sure that her name was the above,she was 10yrs old when they where alive but can't remember them dying,my mother said that ggmother was living with her son and his family in 1944 in Glover Street,Wimblebury. Eli married Sarah Elizebeth Buckley also from Wimblebury and they went to live in Wimblebury at 4 John Street.They had 3 sons and a daughter.sons names were Ralph Kenneth Stanley all deceased.Sheila is the last one living Eli went in the Royal Field Artillery for 3yrs he came out and went down the coal mine,he died from a fall in 1936 he was 39yrs.
