I am looking for ancestors in Scotland, mianly Lawrie, Gow, Urquhart, Fraser. I have been able to get back to John Gow born 1827 in Leith, James Lawrie (his son Walter, born Berwickshire in 1843 is my Great-Grandfather), George Urquhart born 1821 (father of my Great-Grandmother, Euphemia Urquhart born 1852) and Christian Fraser born 1827 (my Great-Great-Grandmother). I have almost complete records of Lawries and Gows to the present day and spread from Scotland, Northern Ireland, England, Canada and Australia. I would particularly like to find more information about James, George and Daniel Gow who emigrated to South Africa in the early part of the 1900s.
Would love to hear from anyone searching for the same names. |
