Hello, Iam researching my lewis ancestry, have gone back to my great great grandfather and have reached a brick wall , my father was Wilfred Lewis , his father Frederick Lewis born 1879 and Fredericks parents were George born 1856 and Mary-Jane born 1856 (nee Cornish )Lewis from Taunton , Somerset, UK.
My great grandfather Georges fathers name was John Lewis and dont know his mothers name , think he may have come from Wales ,
George was the manager of the Taunton Brick and Tile company. my father came to Australia in 1938, he was bought up by his grand parents George and Mary- Jane from the age of 4years,his mother was Alice Rose ( nee Chritchard ) her family come from Norton fitzwarren, Somerset.
