MITCHELL John Samuel, and MITCHELL Peter.
I am looking for information regarding my grandfather John Saumel Mitchell. He was born abt 1897. His father was Peter Mitchell. There may be a Scottish connection for both of them.
John Samuel Mitchell lived in London. At age 23 he married my grandmother (Polly) Mary Ethel Mills Whittlesey on 17 October 1920 at St Marylebone, London (his father Peter was a witness).
They lived at 4 Hereford Street, Marylebone. They had one son, my father Raymond, in 1927.
John Samuel Mitchell was last seen in 1934. My grandmother obtained a divorce many years later only by posting the required notices in the newspaper.
He may have moved to Scotland or Ireland. He may have remarried and had a new family. My Dad may have siblings. They would be in their 60's now.
Can anyone help? Even the tiniest snippet of information can help a great deal when trying to put a family puzzle together!
