I'm posting this message on behalf of my gradfather Leonard Stones. He has asked me to try to find an old friend of his named Colin Bidwell. They grew up together in Carlisle Street (well known as 'The Irish Yard')in Sheffield. They went to Carklisle Street School and later worked in the steel works together. They were inseperable as children spending a lot of time camping in The Raw Woods with friends Alan 'Bud' Ratcliffe and Stan Kirby (both now deceased).
They lost touch after they joined the army and my grandfather was sent to India and Colin to Germany.
We think he may have been in the sheffield area a few years ago but other than this we have no information on his current whereabouts.
Any information you may have on him would be greatly aprreciated.
