I am trying to trace the birthplace of my Grandfather John EAKIN(S). I understand he was born in County Monaghan in Ireland around 1860. His Father's name I think was Robert EAKIN(s).
Family tales say they were horse dealers.
John EAKIN(s) served in the 1st Leimster Regiment and was married in Umballa, Bengal 13 Apr 1882 to Eliza Anne RAEBURN.
