| Mabel Hyde (daughter of owners of the White Lion Hotel in Buxton) married Charles Roy Bailey in April 1919 just before Charley was demobbed. They moved back to Charley's home in Canada but Mabel returned to England within two years. Some years later Charles Roy Bailey remarried a Scottish woman by the name of Betty Baxter. Whatever became of my great uncle's first wife; Mable B Hyde of Buxton who apparently used to sing to the WW1 troops with a beautiful voice?? |
