I am attempting to trace the family of my gg/gfather, JOHN WAKEFIELD. As an 18 year old he became involved in the 10,000 strong riots in Bristol in Oct 1831. The result for John, was a free trip to Australia, in 1832 for life. In 1846, after release, he married jane Mitchell and had a family. He named his sons, William Henry, John, and Isaac. To date I have had no luck in linking him to his roots in St George, Bristol, apart from finding all these same names listed in the 1851 Census, (with their families) along with a Charlotte,- widow, 73yrs, living next door to a William 53yrs. It seems that these may be his family but I have no proof.
All help in solving this enigma, will be greatly appreciated.
