I am looking for information regardin my Grandfather, Alexander Andrew MD. Family stories relate that he came to South Africa during the Anglo Boer war with the Highland Brigade as a Doctor; He was at some stage the Doctor in a concentration camp where he met my Grandmother who was an interned Boer woman and after the war, Married her.
I was also told that Granpa had a brother who started and owned the company tha manufactured Andrew's Liver Salt. I know it was still on the market in the 1950s.
My mother corresponded with cousins in the UK, one of whom was a Veterinarian in London. My parents visited family in Kilmarnock in the 1950s.
I lost contact with my scottish relatives after my mother's deATH.
Help in tracing any information regarding my Scots ancestry and possibly relatives will be very greatly appreciated.
Regards, Roy |
