I am looking for a penpal of my mother, his name is Reginald North. They were penpals around 1953 - 1956, he had a German friend named Albert who had placed an ad in a newspaper looking for a German penfried for Reginald. Reg went on a troopship to North Malaga where he was stationed for about a year. He also was in Benghazi (North Africa) etc. On an old photo from Benhazi, I can see an identification "32RB12.." in the background, might be the number of his division.
Reg must be in his 70s now. My mother's maiden name was Charlotte Ammelung, she must have lived at Lahnstein at that time. She just got hold (from her ex-husband) of her old photos of Reg, and she would like to get any information (good or bad news) on what happened to Reg. His letters suddenly stopped, hers were returned. I hope to find someone who knows or knew him and who can help me with this.
