I posted a message on this site several years ago. I was hoping to find my half-sister, born Jennifer Scott in Bedford on October 30, 1943. I have a copy of her birth certificate and am registered on the Adoption Contact Register. In searching the latest postings on this site, I notice several folks saying that they have copies of adoption certificates and are willing to share them. I would like to know how one gets a copy of an adoption certificate. I thought they were kept confidential and that there was no way of finding an adoptee unless he/she wants to be found. I would certainly appreciate any enlightenment that anyone can give me.
