I spoke to my mom yesterday and she gave me more info on her birthmother.
My mom was born Sept 27, 1948 at St Johns hospital in Nantwich, Cheshire. Her name at birth was Pauline Slater, her birth mother is Hilda Slater. We are not sure if Hilda was married at the time. My mom's aunti told her once that Hilda was married, but that my mom was not her husbands child. It took 2 years to get Hilda to sign the adoption papers. My Papa went to her house and a man answerd, Papa said he wanted Hilda to sign the papers for the baby, and the man said "what baby?" Then my Papa asked where Hilda was, and her replied "She is at the hospital, she just had a baby" This was July 1950, so there is a sibling out there- unknown if male or female. My Papa went to the hospital and Hilda signed the papers.
Any help is so very appreciated!
