I am trying to find a record of the marriage of Thomas Henderson in 1840 or thereabouts to Jane
H(arriet)?. E. (Surname unknown) born 1824 in Woolwich, Kent. Thomas Henderson was born in Haddington on 15/4/1815, apparently he was married previously to a Margaret/Maggie Brown in 1835/40. Presumably she died and he remarried shortly after as several other ancestors of mine have done, one of them 3 times. Coincidentally he was a son of Jane Harriet Henderson, Thomas's daughter who was born in Lanark in 1853. The first 3 children of the 2nd marriage were born in Belgium although I have only found confirmation of the 3rd child's birth, Thomas Henderson born in 1847 in Belgium. The next 3 were born in Scotland. The 3rd of these is Jane Harriet Henderson born in 1853, of whom I am a descendant on my maternal grandmother's side of the family. The remaining 3 were born in Yorkshire. Apparently 3 people by the name Thomas Henderson married respectively a Jane Black, Jane Finlayson & a Jane Paterson. Unfortunately I do not know which if any of these Jane's is the Jane I am looking for, she had two middle names but all I know is that her initials are Jane H.(arriet?) E. ? (Surname unknown). Hopefully there is someone out there who may be able to throw some light on this particular subject. |
