I was born on 4th November 1967 at St. Davids Hospital, Cardiff, weighing 7lbs 4oz. It was a caesar delivery. My name at birth was MARY O'Neill. I was born with a dislocated hip at birth which wasnt rectified when born but with the aid of triple nappies etc was.
I was baptised MARY O'NEILL on 3rd December 1967 at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, Mumbles, Cardiff. I have my baptismal certificate that has a godparent's name on which is Mary Harrington/Hamington.
I was put into Nazareth House, Fairwood Common, Swansea (childrens home in,I think) run by nuns.
I left when I was roughly 5-6mnths old and was adopted by Mr. & Mrs. Hodnett who lived in Cymbran.
The adoption went through roundabout 30th August 1968.
The adoption was done through the Cardiff Rescue Society (Cardiff) which is now known as St. David's Childrens Society.
The only information I have is that my birth Mother was Nuala O'Neill from Ireland, aged 20. The birth father did not know she was pregnant. The story I have been told is (don't know if true). No-one knew she was pregnant so she left Ireland, had a sister living in London and had me in Cardiff. etc.
I have a CardifF address in Beda Road and I also have a last known address (from adoption file) 6 Huddlestone Road, NW London.
I am going to Cardiff on the 26th August for a weeks holiday. I want to try and find out information while there also. Maybe about the address I have, the hospital, childrens home. The church I was baptised in and the Godmother on my baptismal certificate.
If anyone could help me plz contact me or give my advice on certain organised searching methods cos I just seem to be blidnly searching message boards.
