I was adopted when i was about 4. I do not have any records or details of my birth parents.
I was told i was born in 1918 but i do not know how exact that date is.
My adopted parents Were Charles Gregory, Head teacher at a school in Radstock Somerset, and his second wife Rhoda Munden whom he married in 1924.
Charles Gregory was born in 1870 Rhoda was born 1900.
They would never tell me who my birth parents were.Rhoda told me my mother died, but i never knew if that was true as she like to tantalize me about how lucky i was to be adopted.
Charles Gregory was married previously to lilian Ward in 1892, they had a son Clifford Ward Gregory in 1895.
I have tried to find adoption records but none seem to exists. I have no birth certificate and i can not obtain one as i have no knowledge of my orginal surname.
If anyone can advise me, where i can start to search. I would appreciate any useful ways to search. |
