I'm searching for James Farquarson Cordiner who was married to Margaret Jackson on 14th June 1847.I don't know where he was born. I think perhaps Glasgow or Edinburgh. Their son William Jackson Cordiner (my Great Grandfather )was born 1846/1847 (Idon't know where).William was the eldest. He married Elizabeth Maxwell (known as McLure)on 6th Feb.1880 at St. John St. Edinburgh. His brother Arthur, born about 1851.(I don't know where)Janet Catherine, born 1858 in Glasgow.(died aged three in Edinburgh)
Margaret born 1860(died at 18 months) and a son Charles born 1864. (again, I don't know where)
There seems to be a mystery about the family, James Farquarson Cordiner in particular.
I would be very grateful if anyone can throw some light on this.
