Janine Bradley is trying to trace her half brother & natural father both from New South Wales, Australia. Her mother Nola Grace Peck died & there is no one else able to help her. There seems to be many confusing surname changes within the family but any help you may be able to give is greatly appreciated.

Nola Grace Peck was born in Bemboka, New South Wales in Australia on 14th December 1939. Nola Grace Peck’s first marriage was to a Norman Joseph Holzhauser they married on 15th May 1955 in Bega Registrar’s office New South Wales Australia. We believe that one son was born to this marriage, his name is unknown but it is possible that he was born around 1959 with the surname Holzhauser. It is not known if this marriage ended in divorce or death.

Nola re-married ten years later to a Kenneth Bradley on 6th May 1963 in Moree, New South Wales. There was one daughter born to this marriage Janine Fay Bradley in April 1967 who was born in Traralgon Victoria.

Janine’s father Kenneth Bradley was born about 1939 in Dubbo, New South Wales. Kenneth was a truck driver & they lived in 46 Grey Street Traralgon Victoria Australia in 1967. Nothing else is known of Kenneth Bradley and it is not known if this marriage ended in divorce.

It is thought that the son from the previous marriage (Holzhauser) lived within the Bradley household until around 1973. The son left home around the age of 14 years old, no one knows why, where or who with. It may be a possibility he left home to live with his father Norman Joseph Holzhauser?

On 6th July 1973 Janine is listed on vaccination records as Janine F Holzhauser and not by her certified birth name of Bradley by her mother who also lists herself as N. G Holzhauser. Janine was not the child of Norman Joseph Holzhauser and no one knows why Janine and indeed Nola were written as a Holzhauser. Ten days later on 16th July 1973 Nola is issued a joint passport for Janine and herself. Her name is listed as Mrs. Nola Grace Holzhauser, nee Peck. Stating she was 5ft 6” tall with Brown eyes also listing Janine as Janiene Fay.

In September 1973 Nola (1 Peck, 2 Holzhauser, 3 Bradley) is assuming the title and name of Mrs. Nola Grace Lewis and living at 1 Beatty Street Whyalla 5600 with her daughter Janine. At this time Nola may have been the partner of Mr. Thomas Lewis who was aged 33 in 1973 (U.K born).

Thomas Lewis was using a care of address: c/- Post Office Whyalla 5600 in September 1973. We are told no marriage took place between Nola & Thomas Lewis however Thomas Lewis was paying some of Nola’s medical expenses.

Nola was a patient at The Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science, Rundle Street Adelaide around 17th September 1973 and Fremantle Hospital in Fremantle W. Australia until 15th October 1973 for cancer treatment.

On 18th October 1973, Nola’s passport with her name given as Nola Grace Holzhauser shows her entry certificate into the U.K. It states that she is accompanying her Husbands settlement however the surname Holzhauser was her 1st husbands surname in 1955. She married subsequently in 1966 to a Bradley and never married Thomas Lewis so no one knows why the passport states such information. The 24th October 1973 shows Nola and Janine’s entry into the United Kingdom.

Nola, Janine and Thomas moved from Australia to Mount Pleasant in Swansea South Wales United Kingdom. Nola died from Cancer and is buried in Morriston Cemetery in Morriston Swansea South Wales. Thomas Lewis then married but continued to rear Janine as his own daughter alongside his new wife’s siblings as per Nola’s instruction within her will.

Do you know of these people? If you do, any information may help Janine find out what became of her father and where her half brother and his father are. I am acting as Janine’s go between as Janine is not online. You can contact me here or via www.genealogyjen.com for more documented details relating to the above. Thank you for your time in reading this.
