hopefully,Belgian surfers may be able to help.I am trying to find information on the father i never knew.he was:
rene joseph louis van der beken,a private in the belgian army medical corps when he married my
mother in london during feb 1919.he was originally
from ASSCHE in Belgium(although the name of that place has changed)
his father was leon felix van der beken,a builder
from the same town.
when i was born in feb 1920,my birth certificate
lists fathers occupation as coffee merchant,so he had left the army to settle in this country.
