My wife, Fiona, is trying to trace her uncle Bruce Pearson or any of his relatives. Bruce would have been born around 1916-17, probably in Stranraer. His father, Alfred Pearson, was a seaman and his mother's maiden name was Isabella MacLeod. They also had a daughter, Fiona's mother, Elizabeth Haldane Pearson. Isabella died young in 1920-21, Elizabeth was adopted by an uncle in Glasgow and Alfred took his son to live with two aunts in Edinburgh. Due to difficult family circumstances Bruce was placed in an orphanage around 1926 in, or near, Dumbarton. Unfortunately all records were lost during the last war, during which Bruce might well have been in the forces.
Bruce's mother's parents were David MacLeod and Sarah Bruce.
Any information or suggestions on this would be very welcome.
Would anyone who has replied to this appeal please copy their email to my other email address - arthur@mather153.fsnet.co.uk - as there is a problem with the one originally given. My apologies for this difficulty. |
