| I am looking for my maternal grandmother. Her married name was Brenda Downes nee Fox. She gave birth to a son Michael John on 24th June 1952. She was married to Malcolm. He had 3 sisters, Amy{Betty}, Joy and Mollie and a brother Jack. Their mum was Nellie Macnaney. I think they lived in Seacroft, Leeds. She left Michael and Malcolm around Jan 1954 ish. Michael was eventually adopted by his auntie Amy and her husband Leslie Armitage. Presumably, Brenda would have had to sign the adoption certificate. I have no idea of her name now or where she went after she left. She was 17 when she had Michael in 1952 and he retains his original name except for his surname. I have to say Michael has no interest in his birth mother but i do. Thanks. |
