Searching for ancestry or relatives of my mother, MARY ELLEN BURKE, born 15 Apr 1895 in Gortamarle, County Roscommon and moved to Ballyhaunis,County Mayo, after 1901 Census. Her father was JAMES BURKE (BOURKE) born circa 1846 and her Mother was BRIDGET (MEEHAN) BURKE born circa 1861. Her brothers were JOHN born circa 1883, THOMAS born circa 1884, JAMES born circa 1887, PATRICK born circa 1889 & MICHAEL born circa 1893. Her sisters were DELIA born circa 1891 and KATE born circa 1900. (All birth years are based on ages shown on the 1901 Irish Census.) Residing with them were their mother-in-law BRIDGET MEEHAN, age circa 80 years young in 1901. MARY ELLEN immigrated with two of her brothers, JAMES? & PATRICK? (? NOT SURE WHICH TWO) to USA, New York City (Ellis Island), via Liverpool, England on 27 Apr 1913 on the ship "CARMANIA." She met her first husband, THOMAS JOSEPH MULDOWNEY born circa 1893, also from County Mayo, on this ship. They settled in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. They were married from Jul 1913 to Feb 1931.
