| I am trying to find my sister who my mum was made to give up for adoption against her will by her parents when she was 17 yrs old. My mum was sent to a mother and baby home in York,where she gave birth and cared for her daughter for six weeks,until being forced to give her up. She called her daughter Joyce Anne and her DoB is 26/3/65. She was born at Westow Hospital, nr York. I belive her adopted parents may have changed her name to Jane Ann. Mum kept in touch with them for a while and still has all the letters and photos from them. She really wanted to keep her but they wouldn't let her. They treated her terribly. Mum still speaks about her daughter sometimes,i know it hurts her,and I don't think she will ever forgive what her parents did. She suffered tremendoulsly and has never got over it. My mum is 58(DoB: 10/07/47)and her name was Joyce Harper-now Cogan-and she lives in West Yorkshire, UK. I am desperatley trying to find my sister and would love to reunite her with her Mum, I know she loves her and would give anything to have the chance to explain what happened all those years ago. We have left details with Social Services at Northallerton Council, where her documents are, in the hope that one day she will try to find us. We live in hope that she does and she would be most welcome xx |
