Looking for any info. on a family of Murray's that move from Ireland to Scotland and back to Ireland and then to Canada somewhere around 1800 and 1838. The following info is very sketchy but I am hoping it rings a bell with someone. I am looking for info. on Peter's siblings and parents and where they lived in Scotland and Ireland.
Peter Murray b. 1778 believed to be in CO. Derry Ireland Married a Jane Carmicheal(McMicheal) of Ireland year unknown. They moved to uknown Scotland before thier children were born. When Ireland was giving land away to populate, I believe the northern part Peter and Jane moved back to unknown Ireland. Their one son Joseph later moved back to Scotland. I believe peter was a sailor and ship builder. By 1838 Peter and Jane moved from Ireland to Maramichi River area in eastern Canada and later to a homestead in Scott County Uxbridge, Ontario Canada. Their son Joseph moved to the Uxbridge area from Scotland in 1843 and homesteaded with his parents. Joseph was born In Ireland 1807. Peter and Jane's other children were Micheal b. CO Derry Ireland, Roseanne, and Peter Jr.. Joseph Married a Elizabeth Marshall b. 1810 in Ireland, in the town of Uxbrige Ontario Canada. All of Peter and Jane's children were raised and stayed in the Uxbridge Area |
