| ROCKWOOD - Looking for Francis Rockwood from Highweek, Devon, who married Mary Matthews in Trinity, Newfoundland, September 1739. Records indicate Rackwood (not Rockwood) but I believe this is a misspelling. Also William Rockwood, father of William Rockwood born in Heart's Content, Newfoundland, 1772. Have not been able to locate any Rockwoods in Devon. Would appreciate suggestions for sources. Rockwood name seems to trace to Norfolk, Suffolk, but marriage certificate for Francis said Highweek, Devon. |
