Hi, This info from a cousin who has not followed through with ancestry, due to a disabled daughter with a very rare condition geneticists have asked for our family tree history to help identify a diagnosis,unfortunately I can go back no further with my maternal line through Bernard/Barnard McGowan - believed born 12 Jan. bapt 13 Jan 1813 at St Andrew's Glasgow., lawful son of John Millowen??? and his wife Eleonore Ferroll (Farrell or Carroll???). At age 18 after short trial was convicted of stealing fruit/paint tools, sentenced to 14 yrs transportation. Dep. Sheerness Apr 9 1830 on Marquis of Huntley arr Sydney 21 Aug 1830. He was Catholic, no education, single, no family and a House Painter. If anyone identifies with this information or can find any relevant info esp. parent names & which county he lived I'd be very grateful. Thanks in anticipation.
