Singapore.... 1957 - 1960. Did anyone know my father Sq.Ldr Cyril Kilgannon? My sister Sonia was a model and beauty queen during that time. She was in the newspaper so frequently that three months before we left for England the Times banned her from the newspaper. I was much younger and attended RAF Changi Secondary Modern in the 1st form before taking my 13 Plus and going on to RAF Changi Grammar. We didn't live on the station but rather in Katong. My sister 'attended' the Grammar School but worked for the Singapore Model Academy. My mother Ivy Kilgannon worked for Singapore Cold Storage. We lost count of the beauty contests my sister won. She got engaged a couple of times in Singapore, once to Johnny a lovely fellow in the RAF who was in the band and once to an American non-service fellow. We lived at 14 Roseburn Ave, Katong - don't know if that road still exists. I'd love to hear from anyone who was at RAF Changi during the years we were there 1957 - 1960. We sailed out to Singapore on the Dunera (anyone remember her?) and returned to England on the Nevasa. Wonder what happened to those two troop ships?
