Board Name: England
Carol Barg Terrace, BC Canada Jan 25, 2001
Still looking for 2 male 1/2 siblings, born between 1942-45 somewhere
in the Southern region of the UK. Father Canadian served with the
the 39th F/Battery RCA, name Henry "Hank" Barg M66623, born
19/04/19 in Omsk USSR, family migrated to Canada in 1927 & settled in
Southern Alberta. Hank was stationed at Mitchum Common Surrey
for awhile & throughout the South prior to the D-Day Landings
which he participated in & including the Liberation of Holland.
He came back to Canada in 1946. Not much info was available
from our Aunt (who just this past year informed us of the 2 sons)
regarding the Mother, just that she believed, both Hank & Irene ?
were married, she was very attractive, had dark hair & supposedly
made a trip out to Alberta Can,just very shortly after our Aunty
Marg's Wedding. She didn't bring the boys over on this trip, they
remained in the UK. She returned back to the UK. This trip perhaps
took place late 1946 early 1947 ? Our Aunt remembers seeing a
photo of the 2 boys taken together in the UK & Dad carried it around
with him for sometime after. Since Dad passed away in 1993, all his
old war-time photos have disappeared. The 2 boys, would now be men
mid to late 50's, the mother if alive late 70's perhaps 80 ?
She very likely remarried in the late 40's & the boy's last name
changed through Adoption. We sincerely hope that the info we've
given, is enough to jog someone's memory who knows something or
of someone with a similar family history. We realise, many years
have since gone by & hope to hear of some news regarding this
recent request. (Last was Aug 17/2000). There is a possibility
that perhaps they do'nt wish to make contact, we realise that
too. There are 4 1/2 siblings here in Canada, my husband the
eldest born Oct'48, 2 younger brothers & 1 sister born 1960.
There was a second elder brother born 1950, deceased 19/04/78.
Again would appreciate any info & look forward to hearing from
anyone. Thank you.
