Looking for help in finding the English roots of my great-grandfather ABRAHAM COOK b.Feb 6,1835 in England.
He came to America abt 1850 as an indentured servant. He had a brother ALFRED COOK who followed him abt 1852.
The father of these boys was also named ABRAHAM COOK. (My grandfather told me that).
I have had no luck in finding his trail before he appeared in Illinois in 1866, and no luck in looking at Passengers on Ships lists.
I would appreciate any help.
