can anyone help me? my recently deceased uncle flew a hawker typhoon fighter-bomber for the RAF in the winter of 44-45 from airfields in belgium. The ID on the side of the aircraft is small dn within a white "band" on the fusilage,
and in large letters DV (raf roundrel)the the letter "D".
I have a picture taken of him taxing out loaded with rockets under the wings in a snowy field somewhere in belgium. Ihave tried a number of raf web-sites, allwith no success. His name was James kernick-cole, and if I can get info on the squadron from the markings on the planes' fusilage it may be a clue to track down his record. I would be gratefull to anyone who could offer advice or help me locate the RAF squadron thru the www thanks in advance brian fisher las vegas nevada. USA
