Parents never married, mother possibly killed in fire around 1920, father never acknowledged him. I believe father and son knew each other if they passed in the street, though! I've been told he was raised by his maternal family, who's surname was Jones, and that his grandad got him a Cabin Boy's job when he was 14.
That's all I know about my Dad's family, or rather MY and my younger sister's paternal family! Our Dad never saw or spoke to them after 1960, (just before I was born) and never spoke about them. My sister and I are members of that family - I'd like to know who they are/were, please!
