Person I am trying to locate:
Major Morton (Royal Air Force) retired--
I am trying to locate the above gentelman who was a schoolmaster to a private school in England from 1954-1957 (inception of the school MAY have originated earlier). The school was Gainsborough House School in Burchington, Kent, England (the Major MAY have lived in Burchington). It closed in 1957. The building is still standing. I remember it being a three story building with a fairly large back yard and front yard. I was in England in 1956-1958 and was a student in this school. It might be currently under a different name. My father was in the USAF & was stationed @ Manston AFB (previously during the war was an RAF base).
All one needs to do is contact the Chamber of Commerce and verify the licensing to run "private schools" in the Burchington, Kent Area. The major MAY still be living and I would like to contact his family if he is desceased. I am also attempting to get registration information from this school to contact old friends and put together a past record of my childhood. How can I obtain this? I may be able to provide you with the first (1st) name of the Major (please let me know), but since his retirement occupation was so "public", I really feel you will have a "slam dunk" effort in contacting him or his family.
