I'm trying to research my grandfather FREDERICK CHARLES DANBY born 12/4/1903?4? in Yorkshire (maybe Leeds). He came to NZ around 1930 - 1931 (remittance man?). His father's name was THOMAS DANBY, who was a Baker and his mother was MARY DANBY nee DALE. He had a couple of brothers one of which was ROBERT. FREDERICK married MARY WILSON in 1931 and had 9 children (ALISON, ALEX, NOLA, MARY, JOHN, VINCENT, PHILLIP, GORDON, TOM) and left between 1947 on. Rumours in the family suggest that he went back to England and started another family. I'd like to hear from anyone with the surname of DANBY particularly from the Yorkshire area.
