Any descendants of William WOODS (born before 1829)
My great grandfather was Frederick Lindsay WOODS born circa 1849 in Worchestershire England.
His age and the name of his father were gleaned from his marriage certificate.
His place of birth was as described on his death certificate, ie born Worchestershire.
Frederick Lindsay WOODS arrived in South Australia in 1867 and married in 1870 in South Australia to Ellen GODDARD (I have fabulous information on her family from Saxmundham Suffolk thanks)
but it is the elusive Frederick Lindsay WOODS that is the problem. I can see nothing to indicate that William WOODS (the father of Frederick Lindsay WOODS) also emigrated - so William WOODS may have remained in Worchestershire after 1867.
I know nothing of the name of the mother of Frederick Lindsay WOODS as I cannot find a birth record nor a baptismal record.
If some kind soul thinks that they can shed some light on this elusive Frederick Lindsay WOODS and any related ancestors I would be most grateful.
I have seen the writing of Frederick Lindsay WOODS and it is very perfect and easily read writing so presumably he had some education and learn to write well before he emigrated in 1867 to Australia.
Any information appreciated please.
