I have been searching for many years for the ancestry of EDMUND WARING b. 1722 in Leominster d. 1807 in Herefordshire Engl. and married to AANA COOK b. 1728 in Aymestrey d. 1816 in Herefordshire. Her father was possibly TOMAE COOK of Aymestrey mother MARIAE his father poss. HUGONIS COOKE mother MARIAE. In WILLIAM GRIFFITH WARING'S memoirs He states this: Our lineage has been clearly traced back to RICHARD WARINGE of Stagbatch near Leominster who was a commissioner to collect fines and forfeitures under Cromwell from the defeated Royalists. THOMAS WARING, EDMUND (1722-1807)'s brother lived at Stagbatch and died there young (57). Some one cut a '1' before the 57 and the papers published that THOS. WARING of Leominster had lived 157 years. Another THOMAS WARING, a cousin of Grandfather's who lived at Chester but married a wife from the Wye near Symons (Simons) yet a Quakeress, was notable engineer and discoverer. Their children, excellent and devoted Quakers, lived at Leominster. (EDMUND WARING had a large estate in Kinnersley).
There is a lot more in the memoirs, some of which might help other families. The most important piece of the puzzle that is missing is William Griffith Waring said that he did not need to record the ancestry of EDMUND WARING(1722-1807) because it had already been recorded back 12 generations (poss. in a black family bible mentioned in the memoirs). If you can help, Please do. I really need the help. Renee L. Waring 241 Boxwood Road Manchester, PA 17345 1-717-266-6985
