Family legend: Robert and John Duncan fought in the second Jacobite uprising 1745-46, and in the route of the Stewart forces at Culloden Moor survived to flee to America by way of Ireland. John went to North Carolina while Robert eventually settled in Louisa County, VA. He married Rebecca Bacon of New Kent County and they were the progenitors of the Louisa County line of Duncans. My current interest is in the place of origin of these two brothers in Scotland. I'd be grateful for any information on this.
